Amedeo Cesta is a research scientist for the Institute of Cognitive
Science and Technology of the Italian National Research Council (ISTC-CNR),
where he has founded and currently leads the Planning and Scheduling Team
(PST). He received a master degree ("Laurea") in Electronic Engineering
and a Ph.D. ("Dottorato di Ricerca") in Computer Science at the University
of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1983 and 1992 respectively.
His work focuses on the integration of planning and scheduling in software architectures, the use of specialized constraint languages, the synthesis of scheduling heuristics, and on the interactive solution of complex planning and scheduling problems. He is also interested in investigating the gap between theory and practice in planning and scheduling.
His research interests cover also distributed artificial intelligence, multi-agent systems and human-computer interaction.
