    Since December 2006, Nicola Policella is an Internal Research Fellow for the European Space Agency (ESA) where is a member of the Advanced Mission Concepts and Technologies Office at the European Space Operations Center (ESA/ESOC).

    He is also a Research Associate for the Institute for Cognitive Science and Technology of the Italian National Research Council (ISTC-CNR), where is a member of the Planning and Scheduling Team (PST) since 1999.

    Nicola received a master degree ("Laurea") and a Ph.D. ("Dottorato di Ricerca") in Computer Science Engineering at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 2001 and 2005 respectively. In two long visits in 2003 and 2004 respectively, he has spent more than one year at Carnegie Mellon University as a visiting student scholar (Intelligent Coordination and Logistics Laboratory ICLL)

    His research deals with planning and scheduling with uncertainty and proactive synthesis of robust plans.
